Hairpin Motorsport: NSW's car enthusiasts' haven. Join us for car shows, track days, and discounted registration.

Our club allows you access to the Historic Vehicle Scheme (HVS) and the Classic Vehicle Scheme (CVS) at a reasonable fee without the headache of trying to figure it out for yourself.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Historic and Conditional Vehicle Scheme is a special registration scheme in NSW for vehicles 30+ years old. They must be roadworthy, pass safety inspections, and have 60 days of road use outside club activities.

CLASSIC AND HISTORIC VEHICLES

Want a quick glance of your eligiblity?

The Historic and Conditional Vehicle Scheme is a special registration scheme in NSW for vehicles 30+ years old. They must be roadworthy, pass safety inspections, and have 60 days of road use outside club activities.

Be at least 30 years old from date of production
Pass an annual safety inspection (Pink Slip)
Only be used for recreation, not for commercial or business use
Be registered in the owner's name
Factory or dealer-released accessories from the period, as well as factory upgrades and replicas, are acceptable
Some Non-factory modifications may be permitted if they involve essential safety features such as seatbelts, turn indicators, or period-appropriate accessories and options. If you’re unsure whether your modification is acceptable, please contact us for clarification.
Comply with the relevant vehicle standards that were in effect at the time it was manufactured

BECOME A MEMBER

For Classic Cars to be eligible for the Conditional Vehicle Scheme (CVS) administered by the NSW Government in Australia, vehicles must:

Be at least 30 years old from date of manufacture
Can have some modifications and often an engineer’s report are required for initial registration
Be under 3.5 tonnes GVM
Pass an annual safety inspection (initial blue slip and subsequent pink slip every year)
Only be used for recreation, not for commercial or business use
Be registered in the owner's name
